| Always
interested in drawing, I was pleased when my wife gave me
watercolor lessons as a gift. This was shortly after my
early retirement about 10 years ago. My first explorations
involved the layering of transparent colors to develop depth
in my paintings, but I am now expanding my skills by using
the color itself to provide depth and interest. I frequently
take lessons and workshops from artists, whose work I admire
and will attempt to paint any subject, from animals to landscapes.
I enjoy the challenge of watercolor techniques since it
will sometimes lead you to places that you did not plan
to go. I hope you enjoy these paintings as much as I did
in creating them.
